Downtown Petoskey Winter Wonderland Weekend

February 2026

Celebrate the winter at Winter Wonderland Weekend in downtown Petoskey. As of 2020, this event is in partnership with the long-running Winter Sports Park Winter Carnival.

Here's what happened in 2025:

All Weekend

  • Explore the ice sculptures displayed in front of downtown businesses and in Pennsylvania Park- 411 E. Lake St.
  • Cupid’s Clues: A Downtown Valentine’s Word Hunt. Visit participating businesses to collect hidden letters that spell out a special Valentine’s message. Solve the puzzle for a chance to win exciting prizes.
  • Winter Warmer Drink Contest – Downtown cafés, bars, restaurants, and coffee shops will be serving various beverages. Participants vote for their favorite to crown the Winter Warmer Champion.

Friday

  • 1-6pm – Sweet Treat Stroll 
    through downtown shops and enjoy sweet treats offered by participating stores. Participating Stores: Glik’s Boutique, Glik’s Men’s Shop, JoJo Beez, and Somebody’s Gallery.
  • 7-10pm – Dueling Pianos at Noggin Room Pub– 118 Lewis St. Performances by Piano Bar Detroit. For more info, visit nogginroom.com.
  • Dusk – Winter Wonderland Walk. Stroll through the twinkling path in Pennsylvania Park, admire beautifully carved ice creations, and enjoy the serene beauty of a winter’s night in Downtown Petoskey.

Saturday

  • 10am-1pm – Free Open Studio at Crooked Tree Arts Center – 461 E. Mitchell St. Free, family friendly event to explore the unique designs and patterns of snowflakes with salt painting. Visit crookedtree.org for more info.
  • 10am-4pm – Drop In Friendship Bracelets at the Petoskey District Library- 500 E. Mitchell St., Petoskey.
  • 11am-3pm – Explore the Watershed Discovery Center– 426 Bay St. The event will include hands-on activities, exploration, and crafts. Attendees can meet Winnie, the new sturgeon, and her aquatic pals while enjoying cocoa and cookies.
  • 12pm – Live Ice Carving in Pennsylvania Park. Ice carvers will transform blocks of ice into stunning masterpieces. 
  • 2-4pm – Downtown Petoskey Chili Trail. Visit each participating store for chili samples and fun. Go to facebook.com for more information.
