Memorial Day Parades & Services in Northern Michigan

Memorial Day weekend is the kickoff to summer in Northern Michigan. But, more importantly, it’s a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Harbor Springs

TBA – Breakfast at American Legion Post #281– 101 E. 3rd St.
TBA – Memorial Day Parade – Main Street
TBA – Service at Lakeview Cemetery– 7577 Cemetery Rd.
TBA – Service at the Waterfront; Includes gun salute, speech, and music

Indian River

TBA – Memorial Day Parade – Begins on Straights Highway with stops at memorials along the way

Mackinaw City

TBA – Open House at American Legion Post 159- 106 S. Huron Ave.
TBA – Parade from Conkling Park (335 S. Huron St.) to Fort Michilimackinac– 7127 Huron Rd.)
TBA – Fort Michilimackinac Historical Reenactment Pageant Including Parade
TBA – Memorial Day Observation from the Marina Lawn (107 S. Huron Ave.) to Lakeview Cemetery (West Central Ave.)

Petoskey

TBA – Honors Ceremony at Greenwood Cemetery Veterans Honor Garden– 1938 Sheridan St. (enter through the Sheridan Street gate)
TBA – Lost at Sea Remembrance at the Festival Place Shelter-– 101 E. Lake St.
TBA – Memorial Day Parade – From the corner of Mitchell & Emett Streets and ending at the Pennsylvania Park Gazebo- 411 E. Lake St.
Following Parade-Memorial Service at Pennsylvania Park -Includes speeches, wreath placement, music, a salute, and taps
TBA – Open House at American Legion Post #194– 455 Bay St. Light snacks and drinks provided to veterans and their families.
