February
Celebrate the winter at Petoskey’s Winter Carnival! This annual event includes a chocolate walk, cardboard sled workshops, kids activities, ice carving, a hockey charity event, youth sledding contest, ice skating exhibitions, and much more! It’s held right downtown and is put on in partnership with the long-running Winter Sports Park Winter Carnival.
July 4th
Celebrating the Fourth of July in Petoskey is a time-honored tradition that has been taking place for decades. Petoskey is a favorite on the Fourth for locals and visitors, alike, because of it’s beautiful beaches, downtown shops, and more.
November
Petoskey’s annual Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting begins with family activities in Pennsylvania Park at 5 pm, which is followed by a festive evening parade. Activities include cookie decorating
, letters to Santa, a photo area, and more. The parade begins at 6pm and features thePetoskey High School Marching Band, Santa Claus, and many other entries.
December 31st
This fun, affordable family event includes music, art, food, and fun and all to celebrate the New Year at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in downtown Petoskey and is alcohol free so it’s designed for all ages. There are activities going on inside the Crooked Tree Arts Center, just outside it at the Bidwell Plaza, and nearby at the Petoskey District Library.
A walking tour of Petoskey actually is a history lesson as many of the buildings date from the 1870’s to the 1930’s.
