Indian River celebrates summer in Northern Michigan with Old Fashioned Days, a weekend of family fun. With a parade, lobster fest, duck race and kayak event, there is something for all ages in Indian River. So much to do in Indian River.

Here's what happened in 2026:

Events are held at Devoe Beach- 6521 Oak Glen St., Indian River, unless otherwise noted.

Thursday

  • 4-8pm – Petting Zoo
  • 4-8pm – Ice Cream Giveaway
  • 4:30pm – Sack Race
  • 4:45pm – Tug-o-War
  • 5pm – Egg & Spoon Race
  • 5:15pm – Egg Toss
  • 5:30pm – Water Balloon Toss
  • 5:45pm – 3-Legged Race
  • 6pm – Blue Ribbon Races Ceremony
  • 6pm – Ducks for race go on sale
  • Following Blue Ribbon Races Ceremony – Duck Race
  • Throughout the Day – Axe Throwing Trailer & Food Trucks
  • 12-4pm – CCAC Safety Day at Marina Park- 3471 Club Rd.
  • 3-6pm – Scavenger Hunt for all ages & Treasure Hunt for kids up to age 7
  • 3-9pm – 3-Person Beach Volleyball. To register, call Katie at (231) 290-0277 or ircctreasurer68@gmail.com.
  • 3-9pm – Beach Bash
  • 5pm – Rubber Duck Race, ducks are $2 each with 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes. Tickets available at the Indian River Chamber of Commerce, Pollards Quick Lube, Northland Brewery, and Seasons of the North Brewery.
  • 6-8pm – Live music featuring Mike Ridley & Friends

Friday

  • 12-4pm – Submit baked good entries for contest
  • 12-5pm – Craft Show on Main St. 
  • 5pm – Blue Ribbon Baking Contest
  • 5-7pm – Live music in the Beer Tent featuring Mike Ridley
  • 5-11pm – Beer Tent, $5 cover charge
  • 7:30-10:30pm – Live music in the Beer Tent featuring the Darwin Project

Saturday

  • 9am-4pm – Craft Show on Main St.
  • 10am-2pm – Marathon Bingo
  • 11am-1pm – Blue Ribbon Chalk Drawing Contest
  • 12-12:30pm – Yoga Flow Sessions, $5/person per session
  • 12-4pm – Kids Zone
  • 1-1:30pm – Yoga Flow Sessions, $5/person per session
  • 2-2:30pm – Yoga Flow Sessions, $5/person per session
  • 2-4pm – Kids Market
  • 5-7pm – Live music in the Beer Tent featuring Electric Soul
  • 5-11pm – Beer Tent, $5 cover charge
  • 7:30-10:30pm – Live music in the Beer Tent featuring Corey Dakota

Sunday

  • 12-2pm – Plant Exchange
  • 2-4pm – Dwelling Together in Unity Sunday Service & Pie Picnic, Bring your own chair
  • 3:30pm – Greenhouse Raffle Drawing, Tickets $5 each
