From haunted houses to trick or treating, Northern Michigan is full of Halloween’s fun activities during October.

One of the largest all-make, all-model shows in the country takes place just across the Mackinac Bridge in St. Ignace- The St. Ignace Car Show. Hundreds of antique, custom, and celebrity automobiles take part in this internationally acclaimed event. Parades, cruises, awards, and more! Upwards of 700 entries are generally displayed, including hot rods, custom vehicles, trucks, and more. One special exhibit involves a number of drag racing cars from the Detroit area, complete with drivers and those who built the vehicles.

Apple Fest. Held each year on the second weekend of October, Apple Fest turns downtown Charlevoix into a festive and fun place to be.

Mackinaw City’s Heritage Village lets visitors explore life in the Straits of Mackinac as it was during the era of 1880-1917.

Built during World War II to haul heavy materials during the winter, the Icebreaker Mackinaw was in service for 62 years then became a museum.

Sailing is a special pastime that often brings friends together in Northern Michigan. And no wonder. The sailing here is wonderful.
