East Jordan Freedom Festival

June 24th-28th, 2026

Summer starts with a bang with East Jordan’s Freedom Festival. With food, music, fun, entertainment, carnival, dancing, and more, the Festival is packed with activities for the entire family

Here's what happened in 2025:

Daily Carnival Hours: Wednesday & Thursday from 5-10pm, and Friday & Saturday & Sunday from 12-10pm

Wednesday

  • 7-9pm – Firecrackers Pageant at Memorial Park Band Shell- 101 Spring St., East Jordan (Rain location: the Boathouse on Lake Charlevoix- 204 Water St.) Three age divisions: Little Firecrackers for ages 5-7, Junior Firecrackers for ages 8-11, and Firecrackers for ages 12-16. 

Thursday

  • 6:30pm – Youth Parade beginning in Sportsman’s Park- 85 Main St., the turn right on Bridge Street and then turn left on Spring Street and end at Memorial Park. Awards and refreshments immediately following the parade in Memorial Park.
  • 7pm – Kids Entertainment with Gordon Russ and his Fun Comedy Magic Show at the Memorial Park Band Shell.
  • 8:15pm – Special Kids Drawing at Memorial Park.
  • Dusk – Outdoor Movie featuring The Wild Robot at Loveday Field (across from EZ Mart- 651 Water St.). Free. Bring blankets or chairs.

Friday

  • 5:30pm – Cornhole Tournament Check-in/Registration at Memorial Park near restrooms. 20 teams allowed. $20/2-person team. 
  • 6pm – Cornhole Tournament at Memorial Park.
  • 6-10:30pm – Block Party which includes live music, food, games, prizes, booths with activities hosted by local organizations, and more. Theme: Rockin’ in the USA.
  • 6:45pm, 7:45pm, 8:45pm – Button Drawings at Memorial Park. Purchase a commemorative East Jordan Freedom Festival Button to be entered for a chance to win one of nine fabulous prizes, plus one very special, once-in-a-lifetime chance to set off the secular Freedom Festival Fireworks display on Saturday night. Must be present to win.
  • 7-10pm – Live music featuring Tom Zipp & the Bullpen at the Memorial Park Band Shell.

Saturday

  • 8am – 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Check-in at the Community Basketball Court behind Murphy Field. Registration is closed.
  • 8:30am – 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Begins
  • 10am-2pm – Kids Activities in Memorial Park. Bounce Houses, Face Painting, Tattoo Booth, Fairy Hair, Megan the Balloon Artist, and more.
  • 1-3:30pm – Line-up/Registration for Grand Parade at East Jordan Family Health Center- 601 Bridge St.
  • 4pm – Grand Parade  beginning at East Jordan Family Health Center- 601 Bridge St. Theme: Salute Old Glory.
  • 5-7pm – Live music featuring RPM in the Memorial Park Bandshell.
  • 7:15pm – Grand Festival Raffle at Memorial Park. Win one of 10- $100 cash prizes or the Grand Prize of $1,000. Tickets will be on sale during the festival at the Freedom Festival Information Booth or from any Festival Board Member. Need not be present to win.
  • 7:30pm-Dusk – Live music featuring Derailed in the Memorial Park Bandshell.
  • Dusk – Fabulous Fireworks over Memorial Park.

Sunday

  • 7am-12pm – Freedom Lover’s Breakfast at the Trailblazers Clubhouse- 5586 Mt. Bliss Rd. Cost is $10 for Adults and $6 for kids.
